Returning to my alma mater university - Kiel University after a long time to carry out magnetic measurements for CryoFusion project at TF-Kiel at the Group of Nanoscale Magnetic Materials - Magnetic Domains led by Prof. Dr. Jeffrey McCord was a truly meaningful experience. Thank you for having me/us! 🧲 😊

As a former student, being back on campus reminded me of the strong academic foundation and supportive environment that shaped my journey. The quality of education, access to research facilities, and encouragement from faculty played a crucial role in preparing me for scientific work beyond my student years.

Coming back not just as an alumnus, but as a collaborator, reinforced how valuable a positive learning and research environment can be. Grateful to an institution that continues to feel like home and supports lifelong learning and scientific growth.

Last Friday, I had the opportunity to give presentaion on the topic of Material Science: A Fusion of Interdisciplinary Knowledge and Research

within AC-Kolloquium (University of Düsseldorf) and how it can actively support changes in material science and engineering that minimize climate impact while enhancing material performance and extending longevity of material, e.g. for fusion (CryoFusion project ).

From smarter material selection to sustainable material´s processing strategies, materials science plays a key role in building solutions that are both high-performing and environmentally responsible.

It was encouraging to see such strong engagement and curiosity from the AC department and AC´s students during discussion. 👍 🔬

I would like to thank Lena Daumann and Markus Suta for the invitation.

Excited to share that I’m serving on the Scientific Committee for theupcoming Conference FEMS Junior Euromat 2026 on the topic of Sustainable Materials together with my dear colleague @Dr. Antoine Hilhorst from Fonds de la Recherche Scientifique -FNRS in Belgium.

I’d love to invite colleagues and connections from my network to attend and be part of inspiring discussions on sustainability, materials innovation, and future challenges.

Let’s connect and exchange ideas at the conference in Trikala, Greece.
